Asymetric Dance for String Quartet

About the Piece:

Timing: 1 Minute 10 Seconds

Difficulty: Intermediate

Asymmetric Dance was originally part of a suite I wrote in college called The Essay as extra credit for an English Class. The original instrumentation was for Viola, Trumpet, French Horn, and Trombone because that was who we had in the class and the assignment was to write about the process of collaboration. Unfortunately, we did not get to perform the work as planned, but the extra credit counted anyway!

It is called Asymetric Dance because it is in the asymetrical meter of 7/8.

Each player gets to partake in the dance and has their own melodic moment to shine! It also works well as a mid- concert fanfare.
