I’m Samantha, but most people who know me call me Sam. People describe my music as whimsical, sometimes quirky or humorous, mostly melodic, and always Fun to play.

My specialties are writing for Ensembles and Soloists from amateurs in middle school to Professionals, but most notably Concert and Brass Band, Orchestra, and Chamber Ensembles –especially Trombone ensembles!)

A goal of mine is to become known as a musician’s composer, working directly with the musicians who I am writing for in every step of the process. I’d also like to see the world and teach others the joy of music ( i.e. why do we do this performing thing in the first place and how to enjoy it beyond Band, Orchestra, and Choir).

Thanks to Toastmasters, I possess solid public speaking skills. Why not hire me for a clinic?

In order to remain grounded and not become an Ivory Tower composer, I keep one foot in the Performance and Teaching world. Many of my pieces were inspired by my private lesson students or the fantastic musicians I’ve had the privilege to perform with over multiple decades.
