Oboe, Brassband, and Dragons, Oh My!!!!!! – Solo oboe and Brass Band Consortium

Details:

• A 4-movement piece 12-15 minutes in length
• Each movement will be named after mixing 2 elements. For example, Bubble Dragon mixes the elements of water and air. Easy to pull off optional extra musical effects may be added at the beginning or end of pieces ( I.e. the percussionists blowing bubbles to fill the silence and keep the piece moving)
• Difficulty: Medium level/Third Section Brass Band and Collegiate level oboe.
• Also, here is a preview of the piece so far.

Benefits:

• Your name and/or organization will be added to the score.
• Periodic updates as the piece is completed, including video.
• Oboists: Get a piano reduction version and solo with rehearsal marks that will match the brass band version.
• Brass Bands: Get a score and set of parts.
• You have the right to list yourself as a consortium member, giving the premiere of the work in programs and announcements, and a one-year window of exclusivity to premiere the piece.

( ***As I understand that not all bands can commit to being 100% British instrumentation, I will include Tenor Horn to French Horn transpositions and bass clef transposition parts for the trombones, as sacrilegious as this may be. You do not have to use them!)

Deadline to Join: December 31st, 2025

How it Works:

1. Select either Oboist or Brass Band upon checkout. *Note: Oboists must purchase their own version if they want a piano reduction. The oboe solo will be included with the Brass Band parts.
2. Once I receive payment confirmation, I will email you confirmation and help pair you if needed.
3. Rehearsal Scores and parts will be delivered digitally (via email)  by October 31st, 2025, for Fall 25′ and Spring / Fall 26′ premieres. If purchased after that date, I will email them within a few days of receiving payment.
4. The Final Engraved Version ( copy for the public to see) will be electronically delivered early 2026. Hard copies will be made available at a later date for an additional printing and mailing fee (TBA).
