About the Piece:
Timing 2′ 30”
Difficulty: Intermediate
This catchy tune was originally composed by William Walker in 1835 for his Southern Harmony Book.
I discovered the tune in an old book of unfamiliar-sounding Christmas songs that I bought from a yard sale years ago and fell in love with the melody instantly upon playing through it on the piano. This version uses some modern harmonies alongside more traditional tonalities and splices We Three Kings of Orient Are periodically into the melody.
It’s a very upbeat tune and as with most of my arrangements, everyone gets the melody at some point.
